Join Us for the Community Block Party

The WBA welcomes local businesses and organizations to participate in Washington Depot's Annual Community Block Party on Friday, June 19th from 5:30 to 8:00 PM. Whether you participate with a table, booth, activity, or simply by showing up, the evening is a reminder that when a community comes, everyone benefits. Registration for participating businesses and organizations is required  - +click here to register.

This year's celebration coincides with the Washington Volunteer Fire Department's 100th Anniversary Parade which is expected to bring visitors and volunteer fire companies from across Connecticut to honor this remarkable milestone.

In addition to participating in the Community Block Party, we welcome local businesses and organizations to participate in the Block Party Raffle Walk. The raffle encourages guests to visit participating businesses and tables throughout the evening, creating more interaction, energy, and community engagement. It also gives each business a chance to showcase its creativity through a raffle item while helping make the event fun and welcoming.

Here’s how the raffle works:  

• Each participating business donates and creates its own raffle item, for example: a gift basket, picnic package, local goods, gift cards, experience package, seasonal items, etc.
• Participating businesses can display their raffle item at either their business before and during the Block Party, or at a table during the Block Party.
• WBA will have a central Raffle Ticket Table where attendees can purchase raffle tickets (numbered tickets with duplicate stubs).  
• The ticket holders will then walk around and place their tickets into the raffle box for the prize(s) they want to win. 
• Each business will have its own raffle box and will draw its own winner at the end of the event.
• WBA will keep a master list of ticket numbers and purchaser’s contact information to help verify winners if needed.
